This is one of my favorite product fundraisers for busy sports families. The 50% profit margin is strong, the setup is simple, and you can literally run the entire fundraiser from your phone. I also love that individual athletes can host their own fundraiser to help cover travel sports expenses, camps, lessons, gear, and more.

I've personally hosted a Crew Carwash fundraiser for a volleyball club and found it incredibly easy to manage. Everything was handled from my phone, supporters received digital codes, and the ability to track sales by individual athlete made it a great fit for a travel sports program.

Droplet is an online round-up fundraising platform that allows supporters to connect a payment card and automatically donate the spare change from everyday purchases. Each purchase is rounded up to the next dollar, and the accumulated donations support a youth sports team, school, nonprofit, or community organization selected by the donor.

Supporters can set a weekly donation limit, pause their round-ups, and support up to three causes at a time. It is designed to be a passive, year-round fundraiser that can continue working in the background after supporters sign up.

Kathy’s Take
I like the idea of a passive fundraiser that can keep working in the background without families selling products, planning an event, or repeatedly asking people for donations. Supporters connect a card once, set a weekly limit, and their everyday purchases create small round-up donations over time.

Droplet is a fairly new kid on the block, but the round-up fundraising concept itself is not new. The platform uses Plaid and Stripe, two widely used financial technology providers, for account connections, payment processing, and payouts. Droplet also states that it does not store supporters’ bank login credentials.

This definitely could be an interesting year-round option for teams and organizations that want to build steady, passive support.

I like that Little Caesars gives groups multiple ways to fundraise, including fully online options. The familiar brand recognition and individual fundraiser option make it especially appealing for teams and athletes looking for a simple, proven fundraiser.

The biggest challenge is getting families to consistently use the program, so some education and reminders are usually needed. It feels a bit more impersonal than some fundraising options, but if your goal is to run a straightforward donation campaign and maximize participation, it can be very effective.
